Resignation is a big decision in any one’s life. Most people fantasize about their new job, but when it comes to quitting the job, it can be challenging as it is usually hard for people to walk out of their ideal comfort zone.

There may be many reasons to resign ranging from an unsatisfactory work environment to new, but one thing is always universal.

The fear of losing your hard earned reputation in your company. There may be instances you might lose your salary or lose your work experience certificates and many more things.

Hence it is advisable to serve a notice period. Here I suggest some of the ways by which you can help the company in the best manner. HOW TO ALERT THE COMPANY ABOUT YOUR RESIGNATION?
It is in the best interest of you if you give a sufficient notice period to your boss before you resign the company. The period will depend on the clauses that are set in the contractual agreement but a minimum of 1 week is mandatory.

If you can serve a three month notice period it will be great as your employer will have sufficient time to look for an ideal candidate and your rapport will also not be harmed. It is extremely important to maintain a friendly relationship with your boss.

Hence, it would be best if you alerted your boss or supervisor about your resignation through a formal meeting but in case time constraints are making it difficult to conduct a meeting then a resignation letter or an email will do.

The best strategy is to be polite and give your reasons for leaving the company and also establish a last day for the same.

It will be a great idea to discuss the next steps and thank your boss for the opportunity that he gave you in the present company.

Never try to be too honest with your answers by pointing out the failings of the company.

Even if you feel your moral responsibility for the same then do it most professionally by sticking to the facts and keeping your emotions out.

Avoid leaving the company with immediate effect even if you can’t stand the job anymore. This will be different if you have some health issues, transfer, marriage or immediate joining in a new company which will make the HR team overlook your contractual notice period.

Once your final day has been confirmed, then don’t just slack off with your work responsibilities. You are still an employee and being paid for the job hence do justice with the work responsibilities that have been bestowed on you.

After all, you will need references for your future, and I am sure you do not want to leave the company with a wrong impression. In case you have worked for the firm for quite some time then assist your company in finding the replacement and support.

It will always be a good idea to transfer your knowledge to the existing staff members which will help you leave a positive and long-lasting impression on the employer and staff members.

All in all, don’t burn bridges by abruptly exiting the company. Be just with your notice period and do everything to exit the company an easy and graceful one.

This will benefit you in the future when your future employers speak to your former colleagues or past employer while running a verification check on you.

” When you Quit , always Quit like boss”. This is well applicable in cases of Resignation, Quiting your job while you have better goals to achieve in life. There is always a structured process to call off like you have for starting something, this 3 months notice period is one such thing where you will have to follow a set of rules like registration, information before quiting . Registering to this period will untimately show your sincerity and seriousness towards the job. This period gives times to show your best performance in last days for the salary you take and even provides time for your boss to hire others who are equally capable to take of the position. This eventually helps in quitting without spoiling the good relation you have with the firm.
